Miley Marelle Hosale

March 9, 2007 — March 16, 2023

Sixteen years ago, on March 9th in Lebanon, Tennessee, a feisty chihuahua was born. Our family was searching for a puppy as an Easter gift from our beloved grandmother. We went to look at two chihuahuas – one male, one female.  When we called the puppies they came running our direction and all the sudden one body slammed the other and sent it crying back to the crate!  The choice had been made, the female bully had won our hearts!  She became Miley Marelle Hosale. “Marelle” was the middle name of the grandmother that gifted her to us.

From the moment we put her in our truck Miley was FAMILY!  She went where we went.  Camping with her family was Miley’s favorite activity.  Just say “Want to go camping?” and she was at the door waiting to go.  Miley rode on the console looking out the window.  Her tail would start wagging, as soon as, we pulled into the campground.  She was the “Campground Hound” and she had the best campground etiquette- always content, never barking at the other dogs or children. Of course at meal time, she would perk up and demand her share. LOL

Miley’s human sisters dressed her in the finest collars and clothes so she could be paraded down the strip in Gatlinburg or in our hometown in Dickson County.  She always stole the show! Her oldest sister says Miley was always a fun, sassy, bossy puppy.  “She loved to boss you to give her treats and would continuously bump and butt your foot till you use it to rub her back. She especially pulled that trick with Granddaddy Cliff.”  Miley’s younger sister said, “I loved how sassy yet sweet she was and how much I loved when she put her head on my chest for cuddles .”

Miley loved spending time with her dad walking our property, taking in the outdoors.  He planted cherry tomatoes for her every year.  She loved them!  She would walk through the garden till she found a cherry tomato that had fallen to the ground and she would eat it.  One time they even rode down the rapids on a tube while in the mountains.  Every night, Miley would stand in front of his TV promptly at 10 pm, demanding her first bedtime treat, then again a short while later in the hall when she felt it was bedtime.  She didn’t let up till she got her way and was cozy in the bed with mom.

Miley’s mom called her the “Queen Bee!”  Always the boss of her family, her bestie and doggy sister, Prada and in later years the grand pups, Chloe, Padme’ and Dixie when they came to visit.  When the water bowl was freshly filled, Miley always got the first long, cool drink.  Prada would bark the entire time but never came close till the Queen was finished and walked away.  Miley was always first to share any meal with mom and the last to leave. She loved her human’s food!

It is obvious that we all loved and cherished every minute of the time we had with Miley.  She was an important part of our family, our lives. She was a best friend that filled our hearts with happiness the minute you walked in the door.  Miley gave us unconditional love!  She was our emotional comfort and support in times of great loss of our parents and grandparents, teenage heartbreak, recovering from a horrible wreck, and definitely while navigating the empty nest as our girls went to college and then again when they left our home to make a home of their own.  Miley was such a blessing to our family, our home, and our individual lives.

Miley was always very healthy. We took extra good care of her. She was never sick until two years ago, when she was found to have breast cancer. We were fortunate to have a great veterinarian, Ellie Goan, who performed surgery and had Miley back to her healthy, spunky, sassy self in no time.  We enjoyed two more wonderful years with our Miley and, for that we are very grateful.

This January, Miley’s cancer had reoccurred and spread to her lungs. We spent everyday since loving on her as much as possible . We gave her anything she wanted!  Miley fought so hard to stay with us but she began to struggle. On Thursday, March 16th, we had to lovingly and compassionately help her move on from this world to a comfortable, peaceful place of rest.

We are totally heart broken and lost without her but we Thank God for the 16 years with our precious BuBu.

Miley…You have changed our hearts forever!
We will always love and miss you, our sweet baby girl!

Love Mom, Dad, Peyton, McKenzie and Prada.
